DISCOVER FAITH
Experience the journey of faith and spirituality at Christ Church, Westgate-On-Sea.
OUR HISTORY
Christ Church was established in response to the rapid development of Westgate-on-Sea in the late 19th century. The foundation stone was laid in June 1883 and the building was opened on 22 April 1884 as a Congregational Church. In 1972, following national church unions that brought together many Congregational and Presbyterian congregations, it became part of the United Reformed Church (URC) — the denomination it still belongs to today.
WHAT WE DO
We welcome people of all ages and pride ourselves in being a friendly and welcoming congregation, offering engaging preaching and teaching, opportunities for fellowship, and involvement in local life. Our worship services and events cater to all areas of the community we serve, young and old and our Sunday services feature a choir and accompanying musician, to enhance worship and engagement.
OUR COMMUNITY
Christ Church is maintained by a core group of volunteers, who have gone above and beyond for many years to look after the wellbeing of our congregation and take care of events and services. We welcome everyone of all ages and backgrounds to join us and encourage you to make use of all of the services we offer, including renting the space for your own functions and events.
